A radiant beginning
In 1974, Horst Sonnendorfer and Franz Wieth founded the company systec. With innovative lighting concepts, the young entrepreneurs achieved initial market successes and gained significant clients: systec lighting systems can be found in the headquarters of several banks in Frankfurt and at the European Patent Office in Munich.
An idea brings the breakthrough
In the constant search for new product ideas, the first patented coin deposit lock for shopping carts was developed in 1981. This marked a breakthrough for systec. As a result, the 10-person development and project company became the world market leader in coin deposit systems with over 80 employees.

Systec managed to win all leading shopping cart manufacturers worldwide as partners in a very short time: Delivery reliability, consistently high product quality, ISO 9001 certified processes, and the low assembly and maintenance costs of the systems formed the basis of this success. Today, 5,000 product variants are successfully in use in over 50 countries. Retail corporations like Metro, Carrefour, Walmart, or Rewe rely on the more than 40 years of experience of Systec for their international expansion.
